School

One thing I have to say is kind of cool is my school. There are a lot of things that are pretty backwards...I have limited technology for one and not enough textbooks, but I love that the classroom walls are painted so bright. And I love the big window at the back of my room. Since I did not have a window before it is a nice treat for this year. And I absolutely love the key that I have to use to lock my door each night! I will put together a longer post this weekend, when I am at home, but this is a good start to show the school.

Hi Tracy, very interesting description and absolutely true for Bulgaria too. I posted some helpful hints from my experience on Joe's blog and I will be happy to help with more. I am surprised you did not go to the cafe during your prep period or even with your students ... don't be surprised if this happens later in the year ;-). I know that everything looks chaotic and much of it doesn't make sense but that's how it is. Do not stress too much over your teaching and try to enjoy the food, people and the culture. Keep posting ...

We need to set up some skype time or something? When is good for you? Evenings are better for me but I don't even know the time difference. I've been too busy with school to worry about much else. Everyone keeps asking about you and are all shocked that you're married already. I decided to just send out a staff email with your pictures. Call me!! On my cell...get a skype number, it's so much easier!

Emil - Actually, we have not bought a generator, but a lot of other teachers have got them. We have thought about it and will wait and see in the winter. As for the water, we already have a bottle of water by our bathroom sink! That is funny that you did the same things. Oh, and I have already gone out for a "coffee" during my planning break. I think my students are a little too young for that, but I see the high school kids there all the time, especially since we are right next door to about five cafes. of course I don't drink coffee so I usually get water or juice though!

It does feel crazy, but sort of fun too, because it is all crazy. It makes you relax a little. I'm glad you are reading the blog...of course, keep me informed of stuff. I haven't heard from Torey, how is he?

Lil Sis- I think I will be setting up a skype number tonight. We were weighing out our options. Talk with you soon.

Update in February

One might think that having several snow days would give me the time to write in my blog, but I have been spending a lot of time working on ...
